As an international academic journal, Electronic Markets is included in many rankings. One of the most important rankings is the Impact Factor (IF) by Clarivate Analytics, which indicates the impact a journal has in the scientific community by measuring how often the journal’s published articles are cited (see editorial in issue 26/2). The SCImago Journal and Country Rank has a similar function, but in addition to the number of citations, it also takes into account the prestige of journals in which these contributions are cited. The Scopus h-index reflects the number of citations in other journals. Also Scopus citation results for EM compared with other journals from the same field.

Many journal rankings employ the traditional ABC-rating. Here, the classification ranges from leading scientific journal in the specific discipline (A-rating) over important and prestigious scientific journal (B-rating) to recognized scientific journal (C-rating).
