Information for Guest Editors
We welcome suggestions for Focus Theme sections. Please contact the
Editors to make the necessary arrangements. The following is meant as
guideline only.
Focus Theme Section
Electronic Markets has a long tradition in covering specific topics in each issue. Among the examples are "E-Auctions", "Customer Relationship Management" and others. Focus theme topics should have a link to the scope of the journal and typically consist of 3-5 papers. These papers are reviewed according to EM's standards. Issues of EM may include multiple focus theme sections.
Focus Theme Organization
Whenever you feel able to organize a set of papers for a focus theme, Electronic Markets will support you in publishing them. There are various possibilities:
- You already have a set of paper for a possible focus theme, e.g. from a conference mini-track, and want to publish them in a journal. EM is fast in organizing the review process and publishing accepted papers in a focus section.
- You draft a call for papers which will be distributed on the journal website and a series of electronic list servers (e.g. isworld). The review process is organized jointly with the guest editors and accepted papers are published in upcoming issues.
Paper requirements
The papers should be original articles not published elsewhere. Conference publications should be revised and enhanced for publication in a leading journal. Focus sections may also include guest columns, literature overviews, position papers, research agendas as well as surveys and (book) reviews.
Additionally
We would expect the guest editor to contribute an editorial (preface
to the focus theme section) introducing the subject covered.
